Lafayette's
Jed had a restaurant recommended to him that we thought sounded fun and unique. The restaurant also has a concert stage and bands play while you eat. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for good conversation because it is very loud. The band that was playing the night we went was a really good indie folk band and we both enjoyed the entertainment a lot. The food was also really good and priced very well. I had an amazing hamburger and Jed had a Salmon Po boy. We really want to go back because we had such a good time. It was at Oveterton Square which is always so cute and fun to walk around.
Birthday Fun
This year is was my Golden Birthday. I absolutely love my birthday, and this year 25 on the 25th was a really big deal to me. So instead of having Jed figure that out himself, I just straight told him I wanted to do something really fun for my birthday. Nothing crazy, just really fun. He put together a really fun party with some friends from school. We roasted marshmallows on our fire pit and had cake and ice cream. All cookies and cream, my favorite. Jed was so sweet to me and got me the most beautiful necklace that has a tree on it. It's meant to be a family tree and it represents that even though we don't have the family we want and thought we would already have at this moment we still have each other and we will someday somehow have a family. I love Jed so much and this necklace means the world to me.
Jed's birthday was a little more low key, which is just the way he likes it. I made him pie everything because he is obsessed with pie. I made a pot pie and an apple pie. I'd say that the highlight of his birthday was my random gift of a mini drone. I knew that he would like it but I had no idea that he would absolutely love it, and fly it everyday. He has gotten so good at flying it and loves tormenting Zoey with it. Luckily Zoey quickly learned that if you snatch it out of the air the blades bite back.
We both had great birthdays this year!

Shooting Range 10/20/16
For our friend Lyndee and I's birthday we went out to Bartlett (where the temple is) and shot guns at the shooting range. It was such a blast. We shot hand guns and it made Jed want a gun even more than he already does. The range also had a restaurant that was super delicious. They had a date night special where you get dinner , two targets, and two boxes of ammo. I was really nervous but then when I started shooting I loved it. Jed definitely has the better aim of the two of us. Mine is pretty pathetic. There was a man there that had a giant gun and was going to town. It was so loud! He was in our spot and went to ask him if we could trade him. Your supposed to go to your assigned lane.When we asked him he just said no and kept shooting his big loud gun. We decided not to mess with the man with the big gun and figure out a different place to shoot.

Fall Festivities 2016
Jed and I love the fall. We love getting into the spirit of the holiday season. This year we did some really fun things. Jed participated in the schools Chili Cook Off. Their chili was actually not that good, Jed didn't make it, but they had a lot of fun and we got to try some very good and also very unique chili's. Jed made the ballot box though and it was pretty awesome.
Then we went to a flashlight corn maze a little south of us. It was so much fun and the whole farm was really festive. We went with two of Jed's classmates Eric and Kelly. We got to ride a hay truck over to the corn maze and it is completely dark. It's not meant to be scary though just fun. We had fun trying to get all the hole punches on our maze card.
For Halloween this year we wanted to participate in the Ward trunk or treat but we were just slow in planning. So we quickly threw something together and decided to go with a tennis theme. We were going to be 80's tennis stars. Jed looked awesome and the whole ward loved him. We won the award for funniest costume.
BYU played Mississippi State and that was fun representing our school among all the Mississippi State fans that live around us. I went grocery shopping that day and got a lot of looks but luckily everyone was really nice. Next year they play at Mississippi and we are totally going to go!
I ran the Nashville Halloween half. That was really fun and even though it was still slow I ran a new pr in the Half marathon of 1:30. Four minutes faster than last time. I won my age group and got 4th overall so I won my first road race prize of $25 to a local running store. It was a really quick trip to Nashville but it was still really fun to see Jenny and the girls. Josh was doing his rotations.
In that same trip we went to Loveless Cafe with the Ramsay's. Oh my goodness it was so delicious!!! Jed's family loves that place and it did not disappoint. It's just a real good Southern Home style cooking. We got so much food! Funniest moment was when the girls were doing snap chat filters on my phone and Emma (almost 2 at the time) was making sound effects for her distorted face. The other funny moment was when the waiter put is bum in my face helping the other table. He had no idea that it happened but we got a good laugh.
Fun thing in fall, I got my first flat tire and almost changed the whole thing on my own until some nice men came and helped me.

The Harrison's Visit Memphis 10/12/16
One day after my parents left, we had more company! We seriously love company. This time it was David and Bridget and their kids. They were on their way across the country to their new home. We felt privileged that they would stop by to say hi. They couldn't stay long because they needed to get to their new place but it was so fun to see them. We hadn't met Cate before so it was really good to see them. They really wanted some good southern food so while they were here we got Corky's BBQ and then Cracker Barrel. Corky's messed up our order so they gave us a free pecan pie! It was awesome. We took them to Shelby Farms so the kids could get some energy out and play on the playground, they had a blast. We loved seeing them and it's exciting that they live a little bit closer now.
Parents Last Visit to Memphis 10/1-10/11
My parents have been serving a mission in Japan for almost 5 months now. It's so crazy to think that they are in Japan sometimes. The time change can be difficult because it gives us a very limited window of opportunity to contact them. That being said, it's pretty incredible how easily we can contact them. I can text, call or g chat with them any time I would like. It's pretty amazing. They are being so valiant and serving the Lord so faithfully. The stories they write to us are fun to read and you can tell they are are truly making a difference for the people in their area. I love them so much.
Before they left for Japan they were able to come visit us one last time. That is pretty amazing considering they had already been here twice before. Luckily for us, my Grandma Nelson lives only five hours away so us being in Memphis gives them an opportunity to see both of us in one visit.
My parents got here right before the weekend and on General Conference weekend. It is always so nice to have people with us over conference. On Friday night we did our traditional go out to Central BBQ and then go to the Pyramid. As usual it was delicious and fun. The pyramid was really fun. They were having a celebration that weekend so there was a live band outside playing fun music and then they had a firework show. The best moment of maybe the whole trip, though my mom may disagree, was when my mom was looking at the giant fish tank and I came up behind her with a very life like wooden snake. It looked real and moved very real. I made it slither right past her peripheral vision and she let out a very very loud scream. The entire place feel silent and we all burst out laughing. It was so funny. We also got to celebrate my mom's birthday and that was really fun to do!
In between sessions, we took my parents to the Mud Island River Walk. It was really fun and they really enjoyed it.
During the week my Mom, Dad, and I left Jed and went over to Arkansas to visit my Grandma. It was a really fun visit because Arnold and Kathy came up from Louisiana and we hadn't seen them in a very long time. It as fun to see so much family. We mostly just sat around and visited. It was good for my parents to see my Grandma before they left for Japan.
When we got back it was the weekend again which meant that we got to do things with Jed. We decided to go south to Vicksburg National Military Site. It was really neat and it was a gorgeous day. We had a fun time learning about the Civil War battle and seeing that part of Mississippi. Vicksburg is a very old city and had a lot of history. Sadly it's also really falling apart. The park is so nice though and really keeps it together. On the way home we went to Cracker Barrel. I had never gone before and it was such delicious southern home style food.
Sadly their visit came to an end and it was time to say goodbye. It was really hard for me to say good bye because it would be two years before I saw them again. A lot could change in two years and I was sad that they would miss things. But luckily I know without a doubt that what they are doing is the right thing. Because they are serving a mission, they are blessing our family more than ever and we have truly felt those blessings. I have faith in what they are doing and that it is righteous and that they are serving the people faithfully. I love my Mom and Dad so much!

Ward Camp Out
This last weekend we had a ward camp out. Because it was homecoming at SCO, and Jed had to give tours to people, we couldn't make it out there until late. On our way out there we got lost and drove around a dark Mississippi lake for a half hour scared to death that we were going to get murdered. We finally found the ward and had a really great time. It was extremely hot and humid so we were really concerned for the night. We also had Zoey with us, which was way fun but always complicates things just a little bit. Ok she was really good but when it's so hot outside and we are all stuck in a two man tent, well it gets complicated. Because of the nature of our tent it's either have the rain fly on and suffocate or have the fly off and risk being rained on. Our tent was not made for the south. Well it was supposed to rain so we roasted. We where so hot and of course I was being a baby. Zoey was so freaked out by the small space and heat that she was breathing in our face and wouldn't lay down. We ended up taking the fly off for survival and of course at four in the morning it started to absolutely poured. When we got out frantically to put the fly on Zoey took this opportunity to escape the tent. So I'm blind (cause I can't find my glasses) and Jed and I are barefoot trying to save our tent and find our dog. We get Zoey in the tent and assess the damage. Our tent has so many puddles but it's fine cause Zoey quickly drinks them up because she is dying of heat. From then on we got to sleep. So the next morning we got to breakfast and have a good time. Meanwhile a family in our ward went fishing and caught a cat fish and hung it on a line. While we were at breakfast a water moccasin came and and tried to eat the cat fish and got caught on the line. It was incredible! Jed and I were officially freaked out because we had run around barefoot in the middle of the night with these creatures around! Oh the joys of living in the south!
